2 FahCore_a7.exe in Taskmanager but only 1 project

Hi, since using the Windows 10 Client 7.6.21 i have 2 Cores_a7 and 2 FAHClient.exe listed in the Taskmanager both running at ~50%. The number of CPU Threads this one Slot should use is: 2. The Client window show only one project. My question is, where does the second process come from? I tried to kill but it returns after a short time. The client runs on "light" so until updating to the new client i always had 50% CPU usage. Now with thes 2 processes i have ~80-90%.

I am guessing but until you send us a Log, all I can do is Guess.

If you start FAHControl (also called Advanced Control) there will be a button called Configure. Click this.
There will be a tab called Slots Click this.
Are there two cpu slots? If so, remove one and then edit the other. You want CPUs to equal 2.
Now exit and save as asked.

Your CPU should work on Projects Core_a7 or Core _a8 (eventually a8 will replace a7 once all existing research using a7 finishes)
Your GPU should work on projects Core_22 (There may be Core_21 as well, but I have not seen one in a year)
This may be the latest AMD driver (in German)

Yes thats right, CPU works on both a7 and a8 but my problem is the AND. Everytime i kick the process not shown in the work queue another second process returns. The one project from the queue works fine. It runs on mx 50% and it uploads correctly but the second process is nowhere to find. The GPU slot also works as it should.
It seems like there were two Clients but only one is to see and to open. The other is only in Taskmanager

It sounds like you have managed to install two copies of the F@h software in two separate locations. Have you run older versions of F@h than 7.6.21 in the past?
I ask because the 7.6.21 version changes some of the default installation locations. If its installer sees an older version, it should just update that. But there have been some cases reported of a second copy being installed in the new locations and leaving behind the first, older install.
If this is the case, someone more familiar with the Windows F@h install may be able to help better the I can. But for now I would suggest setting the client you can see to Finish the current WU, and then Pause it. Exiting its FAHClient process then may allow you to connect to the other FAHClient and do the same for it.
Once both are no longer processing, keep a copy of the config.xml file to use for copying and pasting setup information like you passkey and team number. Then uninstall including data until both installs are gone. Then reinstall the current client.

Ok, yes it run a older version before updating. I will uninstall the actual installation and try a clean reinstall. Is there a way to completely remove F@H or only uninstall from application folder??

There is a check box during uninstall to also uninstall data. That will remove more directorys

Ok, whatever F@H left on Windows is now gone. After reinstall theres One Project one Process. Thanks for helping and have a nice day.
