Custom/Lite Windows installs

Has anyone tried folding on a custom Windows 10 installation? Say a Ghost Spectre install? Would such an installation that minimises background processes, lowers ram usage, etc translate in a higher PPD? Cause they do translate in minimally higher avg. fps in games and substantially higher 1% and 0.1% lows.
