No access to GPU?

Hello! My first post. I'm new to folding, and have a bunch of old(ish) Xeon servers and GPU's here that I thought I'd put to good use.

OK So I've got a system here just set up. Windows Server 2016, four Xeons in it, and a single Geforce GT 730 GPU 2gb.

The console says it's folding fine on the CPUs but for the GPU it says "Paused: No GPU Access". It's got the latest drivers installed, and the card works fine, can't think what the problem is?

Any help gratefully appreciated!

Iirc this was a message in the past when fahclient was run as a service ... I am sure an older head than mine will be able to assist

The GT 730 usability will also depend on which version of the card is installed. There were several different ones released, and a couple of them were just rebranded GT 630 cards based on the Fermi chips from prior generation cards, not the Kepler chips used in the higher end GT 600 series cards.

If you post the first couple hundred lines of your log file, we will have a better idea of how you installed the client and what settings apply.

@Joe_H ... Is the issue of no GPU whilst running FaH as a service in Windows still true for Win 10 as was for Win 7? ... Obviously Log would help diagnose this

Yes, F@h still can not use the GPU when installed as a service. MS has never changed their decision on security for the video device since then. To use the video device, there needs to be a logged in user. The F@h client running as a service does not count as being logged in.

I have one of the Kepler versions of the GT730. It's slow, but it finishes WUs within the designated timeout. As Joe said, it can only be used if I log on; it would not be seen if I ran FAH as a service.
