Hi,
I'm new at folding@home (started 25.1.2021) so I'm not sure whether it's a bug here or not.
I already watched several WUs finishing but not getting any credit for it. So I checked the logs (running official folding@home docker image on debian 10).

So I got 709093 more credit points in my logs then I got really have in folding@home stats.
Also I see estimating 146819 points per day at the web interface. Clicking on stats, I see 88 WUs, but it seems I already finished 126 WUs.
So for me, it seems that I'm not getting all credits. Not only for some WUs, it seems I'm missing over 70000 points, 46 WUs after about 18 days folding now.

Maybe I get this wrong, I'm not familiar with the system folding@home, but it would be great if you could explain to me whats happening here.
Please let me know if you need more logs.

Basically, for troubleshooting missing credits, the developers will need to know the PRCG numbers of the affected WUs and the faulty servers.

You'll find the PRCG numbers (Project, Run, Clone, Generation) in your log. They look like "project:17324 run:0 clone:2277 gen:12"

And you can check at https://apps.foldingathome.org/wu#proje ... 277&gen=12 whether the credit has been transmitted to the stat system. If not, you'll see there a message "Not found" instead of a line with the credit infos. It means that the concerned server (here: 140.163.4.200 according to the log) doesn't connect to the stat system and needs some attention.
You also can check the status of servers at https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats and the distribution of servers by projects at https://apps.foldingathome.org/psummary

EDIT: AFAIK, lost credits are unheard of (except in very rare occurrences, when work servers are in such deep trouble that you cannot upload your WUs for days), but it can happen that it takes some time and doing for the stats to reflect the received and acknowledged WUs. And there has been a few such hiccups lately. So if you feel that it is happening to you, you can just wait, or try and gather the necessary infos and create a thread here. It's then best to mention the affected server(s) directly in the title of the thread, as scientists in charge of Work servers and developers in charge of the stat system will tend to read with priority the threads with "their" servers in the title.

Hi,
thank you for the fast anwsers. Yes, that's me. I've a server running at home and hoped I can do sth. useful whith my cpu while it's idle. I'm not really a guy who needs the credit, but I was concerned if the WUs are trasnferred correctly.
So I will investigate some time and check my PRCGs (didn't know what it is) and let you know if I find any problem. Thank you a lot for the kind explanation and investigations.
I'll also have a look at the API if I have some free time :)

patrik, I forget to welcome you to Folding@Home, but I should:

Points are useful to see if you're configured to do the most science, and to see if all your work is getting to the servers.

As ajm mentions, since the researchers themselves don't need points, they use the oldest, least reliable, slowest, server they own to do stats, and use the good computers for research. For us folders, that makes the points somewhat fragile.

If you look at that graph, you can see the stats server fail to record my points for several days, then catch up all in one day. My understanding is that my CPU server was sending points just fine but my GPU server was cut off from the stats server. It happens, and while some folders are very points centric, I know my setup is right and it is just a server side issue.

Folding is not a hobby I am doing, it is a hobby my PCs are doing. Trying to help other folders is a hobby I am doing. <G>

Focus on curing disease and doing science; many of the oddities here are then forgivable.

I investigated some minutes to check my logs and the api. Sadly I did not find a way to check PRCG status in the API, or maybe I was not looking close enough.
So I greped through my logs and checked the result via headless browser. By the way, it seems it's not possible to enter full PRCG at https://apps.foldingathome.org/wu#. It only worked for me by entering every part of the P-R-C-G in the 4 fields. When I entered the PRCG in the PRCG field, I'm getting an error (Error: error).
Anyway, after my PC checked all the PRCGs, it seems I "lost" about 63 WUs. But it also seems they nearly are all from the same Project 16927. Here is my list of PRCGs where it seems the credits are not working:

If you copy/paste the data from the log, such as "WU01:FS01:0xa7:Project: 12345 (Run 5, Clone 20, Gen 9)."
into the PRCG field, it will parse it for "Project" and starting there it will extract the numbers, overriding anything that might already be in the 4 individual fields.

There are several different ways the PRCG are logged (too many) and it's nice to have it working for some of them. Somebody could add some code that parses other common appearances that your grep turns up.

The one you posted would be difficult because it doesn't retain delimiters between the 4 fields.

in the PRCG field (you can find both versions in your log)
or
directly compose the URL like this:

With something like "169279879131", only the project can be recognized (first 5 digits). There is no way to know what is then part of the Run, the Clone, and the Generation.

Do you get a Not Found error when you check those PRCG? Of do you just not find any credit allocated to you?
Because: Did you create an user immediately when you started folding? If you didn't, the system recorded the first WUs as Anonymous and your account mimotech was credited only for the WUs delivered after you created the user.

There have been a multitude of problems with delayed credits. The person responsible for fixing those problems is working through them one-by-one.

When that server's problem is resolve, I expect that the entire backlog will be credited on a single day.

That particular server has been an off again/on again one since about mid December for getting into the stats. The person was looking into this, no idea how deeply they will need to go for a permanent fix.
