It seems my system is never "idle"

I've found that if I select "only when idle", I never see any evidence of FAH making progress (the percentage done doesn't increase, I don't hear the fan speed up). This is true even when I leave the machine alone overnight. As it is, I set it to "only when idle" at the start of my workday and while I'm working" when I go to bed -- except, of course when I forget to do so, so no folding happens that night.
Is there something I can fix so that this works?

Also, is it true that the FAH software will automatically detect when I unplug from my power supply and shut down folding until I plug back in?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums:)

Depends a bit on your is as to how the idle works as the FaH tool uses the os to determine this... iirc itbis based on the screensaver for windows .. just set that to the blank screensaver on a shortish time and it should work fine ... advanced control has a setting for pause on battery iirc but the will probably also depend on how the os announces this.

If you are able to please post the first 100 or so lines of your log which contains the system information and we may be able to help more ... guidance on finding and posting logs can be found on the new doners start here forum.

K, thanks, I'll look into the screen saver.

If you choose the Gear Icon in the start menu you can type Power in the search bar in the upper center and get power and sleep settings. Make sure it never sleeps on A/C power.
