P106-090 Troubles

Has anyone run into trouble after picking up these old mining cards? I recently bought a Zotac P106-090 from ebay with the plan to have it fold shotgun alongside my 1080ti. After installing it, I fired up GPU-Z to see what I bought, and I was surprised to find that it was missing both CUDA and OpenCL.
Is there a different bios I can flash to? Is this a driver issue? Any help would be much appreciated.

Another weird thing that seems to be happening in this GPU-Z readout is that some of the values look like they're being picked up from the 1080ti. For example, I don't think the P106-090 has 11264 MB of GDDR5X.

You may need to reinstall drivers or use a specific version to have support for the P106-090. These have been used by others who have posted here.

There is also a bios update for this GPU

Ok, I flashed it with that bios but still no change. GPU-Z still indicates that there is no support for OpenCL or CUDA.
The system I'm running it in is a dual-boot windows 10/linux mint 20 machine. I'm running the 457.30 nvidia driver in windows. The p106 card detects in nvflash, but it does not show up in MSI afterburner. F@H shows that the card is there but is "disabled".
In linux, I have the newest nvidia driver as well (450something?), and the card is not listed in nvidia x-server.
I was under the impression that these cards are more or less plug and play since they're the same silicon as a 1060 3GB. Is it possible that I just got a defective item from the ebay used hardware lottery or are there more tweaks I can play with?

Have you tried running a WU on F@H to see if it runs CUDA? So many things are incorrect in that GPU-Z display with regards to the actual specs of the P106-90 card that it may just not be detecting support correctly.

When installing two cards on Linux, I had to re-install the Nvidia drivers in the Ubuntu/Mint driver tool, and I am running the "server" variant of the drivers. What does the first 200 or so lines of FAH logs show when you start it up? How about ouput of the nvidia-smi command?

Well this is interesting...
$ nvidia-smi
Unable to determine the device handle for GPU 0000:0A:00.0: GPU is lost. Reboot the system to recover this GPU

Assuming the drivers and firmware are up to date, that suggests a broken card. Can you try it in a different slot or machine?

Someone else has had trouble with the latest Nvidia drivers (457.30): viewtopic.php?p=345851#p345851
The former version might help.

I'm trying it in a different machine. I think it is not playing well with a second card. Using putty to remote to the machine with just the p106-090 installed, nvidia-smi does recognize that it is there which is a step in the right direction. It is still disabled in F@H but I have a few more things to try now. I'll roll back the driver to 435 and try reinstalling the F@H client.
I'll let everyone know how that works out. Thanks for all of the suggestions so far!

Do you have PCIe power plugged into the card? I had issues with mine until I gave it external power, then it worked fine.
Odd as it should be well below 75 watts, but it is what it is.
