I have an i5-8400 Win 10 PC which works fine with 7.6.21, but after inserting a working GT 1030, the client refuses to start. Removing card and deleting GPU slot the client resumes folding with 6 cores. Fairly new to FAH, but GPUs.txt present and correct and latest Nvidia driver 26.21.14.3200 installed. Tried clean install but still no luck.

did u try a clean install with the GPU inserted? Seems like all it sees is the integrated one which is not supported at this time.
Also, make sure you grab the driver direct from Nvidia's website. Sometimes windows will overwrite the driver which breaks things, and other sources of drivers are CUDA/OpenCL incomplete, so get one from Nvidia.

reboot, and if your GT doesn't show up:

set it to finish the current CPU work. When it's done, try another total re-install. (including deleting data checkbox)
If you see a slot for the integrated graphics again, set it to paused and leave it.

If your GT is still not there try to add a GPU slot for it, and that's all i can think of

I started from scratch with total re-install of Nvidia drivers and FAH client but still no luck, even with edited config.xml present. With GT 1030 inserted all that happens is that GPUs.txt is read and web control asks if I have FAHclient installed! Removal of graphics card restores normal FAH operation. Very frustrating. I have another PC on order so see how that works.

I have a 1030 that I use for testing builds. A few weeks back, someone here had trouble making it work with FAH, so I tried it as it was in a machine, but not folding. No problem at all, but the key point is that I did NOT install Nvidia latest drivers, I just let the ones installed automatically by Windows and tried it, and it worked:

Maybe just uninstall Nvidia drivers, let Windows do its things and try like that?

Hi ajm,
Just going to report the results of my latest attempts when I saw your post. I did exactly that this morning and successfully started folding!
Previous driver was latest version 457.90, current version 432.00 which FAH recognised with no problem. So try the default drivers first ..
