For a couple of months I fold.
Everytime I try to update my server (CentOS7) using the yum update command I get errors like

Code: Select all

Running transaction check
FEHLER bei Transaktionsprüfung gegenüber Depsolve:
python(abi) = 2.6 is needed by (installed) fahcontrol-7.4.4-1.noarch
python(abi) = 2.6 is needed by (installed) fahcontrol-7.4.4-1.noarch
** 3 bereits bestehende(s) rpmdb Problem(e) gefunden, »yum check« gibt Folgendes aus:
fahcontrol-7.4.4-1.noarch hat fehlende Abhängigkeiten zu python(abi) = ('0', '2.6', None)
fahviewer-7.4.4-1.x86_64 hat fehlende Abhängigkeiten zu libGLU.so.1()(64bit)
fahviewer-7.4.4-1.x86_64 hat fehlende Abhängigkeiten zu libglut.so.3()(64bit)
Which is saying that I have missing dependencies for a couple of packages.
I tried to exclude them from the update but it wont work corrrectly.
Does somebody know this kind of issues?

Thanks for your help.

If you search the forums for "python" you should find a few threads where this issue is discussed ... Ubuntu 20 folders have these issues .. there may be instructions/guides in one of those threads - but you may have to work out CentOS variants as I can't recall anyone mentioning that as their OS

You may also run into fewer dependency issues if you use a more recent version of the client software. The version show in your post is 7.4.4, that release is from nearly 6 years ago. The current version is 7.6.13, and there is still a fair bit of knowledge present on the forum for the prior release 7.5.1. If I recall correctly, 7.5.1 uses Python 2.7.
