Suggestions on F@H settings

I have seen on many threads advice on what settings to use for items like Internet Connections and large or small WU or even WU without deadlines. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on what is most stable and effective for the options given in the graphical client. Mainly upload and download of work.

The default settings are the recommended settings. Anything after that is a customization for your computing environment. If you have a broadband connection, enable large work units, and you will get a few more points. That's about it.

When not using the IE settings is the proxy just "localhost"?

Do not use either IE Settings or Proxy.
When you are not using a proxy, the setting doesn't matter.
