Hey guys, my HP Z800 Dual Xeon / GTX 670 has some power issue i think :e( :e( :e( , anyways i built a spare system right now

New system :
AMD Ryzen 1600 Stock clocks
Asus B350F-Gaming
2X 8GB Geil Potenza DDR4-2400
Zotac GTX 780Ti 3GB
256GB Intel NVME
EVGA 500BR PSU

Currently Scoring 594500 PPD

2nd System ( HP Z220 )
Intel Xeon E3 1245 V2 Stock clocks
HP Board
4x 4GB g.skill RIPJAW DDR3-1600
Dell GTX 1060 6GB
256GB Kingston SSD
HP 420W PSU

Currently scoring 383100 PPD

Why is a GTX 780ti 3GB pushing more PPD than my GTX 1060 6GB ?

Your 780 Ti has 2880 shader cores, vs only 1280 on the 1060.
Your 780 Ti does run at just under 1Ghz, vs the 1060 running at under 2Ghz.
The 780 Ti has 2,25x increase in # of cores, running at half the frequency.
That means it's about 12% higher speeds.

Also that GPU has a Ryzen 1600 6 core 12 thread at 3,6Ghz helping PPD.
The Intel Xeon has only 4 cores 8 threads running at 3,8Ghz.

a 1060 should get around 400K
a 780ti should at best get 300K

can't really comment on the cpus but assuming the cpus are folding too, what does fah advanced control say for each slot on each machine?

I note you say "currently scoring". There is quite a bit of variation between GPU work units and maybe one has a core 21 and the other a core 22, or the work unit suits one card better than the other one does.

The GTX 780 ti is an older Kepler chip, but I do not think Nvidia has optimized OpenCL in years. 2880 cores @ 875 Mhz is 5.345 TFLOPS SP

The GTX 1060 6 gb is a newer Pascal chip, but I do not think Nvidia has updated OpenCL support for it. 1280 cores @ 1506 Mhz is 4.375 TFLOPS SP

So the GTX 782 ti should be over 20% faster than the GTX 1060 (It is even stronger at Double Precision, but F@H does very little DP)

both cpu
Ryzen - credit : 5758
Xeon - credit : 4947

not really much a difference in cpu folding power, im surprised anyways that the 780ti is still a strong card to fold, i guess it was worth the 100$ i paid for it vs the 200$ gtx 1060 6gb lol

1060 has peak 4.375 TFLOPS FP32 performance,
780 Ti has peak 5.345 TFLOPS FP32 performance.

FP32 performance is the most important metric for FAH.

i have the Amp! edition so pushes out more, techpowerup says 6.175 TFLOPS instead of the 5.345 TFLOPS

current WU is 115412, gpu alone PPD i dont know how to check it

The GTX 780 Ti is rated at 250 watts and the GTX 1060 6 gb at 120 watts, so before you buy more, consider your cost of electricity.

click on the folding icon in the system tray bottom right of your screen and select Advanced Control. That lets you see the slots that are running and if you click on each one the right-hand pane shows you its Estimated PPD.
