My Radeon HD 7950 is getting 100k + ppd, but my Rx570 4GB in compute mode is only getting 25k? Would anyone know why my RX570 is getting low point WU's?

Seems that my Rx570 is doing less than half the work of my old 7950.

The web page I found indicates the HD 7950 is about 30% faster than the RX 570.

Is this one PC or two separate installs?

@JimboPalmer ... you may be reading that the wrong way round ... RX 570 is faster by 30% https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/A ... 3924vs2160 ... If it is separate kit then it feels like a no QRB on the faster card type scenario (total guess for want of any log or system info) ?

AMD HD 7950 3 GB GPU
8 GB DDR3
1 TB mechanical HDD
500 watt thermaltake PSU non modular.

PC2

Intel core i3 6100, 2 cores 4 threads
AMD RX570 4GB
16GB DDR4
256GB SSHD
550 Watt Cougar PSU semi modular.

I have 3 other machines running f@h as well, 2 laptops and 1 SFF pc, Today it seems that all machines have a much lower PPD, most aren't running Covid-19 tasks. Could be that the servers are overloaded again? If so that is a good thing!!

My RX 570 Pulse is getting between 300-350,000 PPD but sometimes which is dependant on the WU it does drop to about 100,000 PPD.

What do you think could be problem?

What temps is the RX 570 at, if it has nothing to do with thermals then it could just be the WU. I've had WU's that were achieving almost 500,000 PPD on my 570 and I've also had WU's that were below 50,000 PPD.

You have to ignore the initial value of the projected PPD and estimated completion time-date. What were the WUs and what were the long-term results and were they both after getting a qualified passkey.

Right now with GPU folding it's at 52c

Ahh OK well thermal throttling at the very least can be ruled out, what is your current PPD on the card?

Was at 300k, but the last 3 days or so its been between 30k and 70k.

My HD 7950 has also seen a dramatic decrease.

Same here on my RX 570, RX 580 and RX 590 so to be honest mate I wouldn't worry about it so long as it's completing work units and uploading them successfully, just keep it crunching away

Are you CPU crunching as well?
If you do, make sure you're not over committing the CPU, by folding on 100% of the CPU cores, and add to that the GPU slots.
Try to free 1 or 2 CPU slots for GPU, and see how high CPU utilization is.
If it's still at 100%, you might need to decrease even further.
if it's at 95% or less, add an additional slot.
On my Xeon I used to have 10 cores 20 threads. With GPU, I had to lower to 16/17/18 cores of CPU crunching, as the CPU readout would show 100% CPU utilization at those settings.
Increasing the # of cores beyond this would be over-committing the CPU

I tested that theory on my i5 4460 machine with a Radeon HD7950 and you were correct. I had the cpu slot to use all 4 cores and my GPU was not getting a lot of credit or taking longer to complete WU's. I changed my i5 to use only 2 cores, and my PPD for the 7950 went back to a "normal" state.

I'll swing around to all 5 of my machines and make sure that I'm not over-committing my cpu on my machines.
