Finish Before Expiration To Save Work?

If I see a GPU task is not likely to complete before expiration, will clicking Finish save the work that was done, reducing the work done by whoever picks the task up?
My first GPU task took too long and expired, which I assume means the work done was lost. Thanks!

Welcome to Folding@Home!
the Finish option is for when you wish to finish this Work Unit but not automatically start another.
You can then restart by choosing Fold.
One way to send the server notification you have quit work on a WU is to remove the slot. So if your GPU is just too slow to fold:
In the taskbar to the lower right of the screen, you should see a F@H molecule icon, click it (you may need to click an Up Arrow to see it ^)
The second item in this menu is Advanced Control, click it
On this screen to the left is a Configure button, click it
Now you get a screen with a Slots tab, click it
You should see a gpu slot, click remove and save.

Just for future reference.....
If a slot is removed per the above, is the WU re-issued before the timeout date and time, or will the system just let it sit until it passes that time?

BobWilliams757, my understanding is that the partial WU goes back to the server to be reassigned (from the start) to someone else. It does not need to wait for time out as the server knows you abandoned the WU.
