WUs to Chosen Team?

When I first started up, I immediately chose a team to have my work credited to. Pretty soon I saw not everything was being credited to my team of choice... so I heard that adding a passcode might help. I did this. The web control client SAYS all my credits are going to my chosen team BUT I see a not inconsequential part of my WUs are still going to one of those other teams. When stats are working (I get frequent "bad gateway" throw backs) I verified it was my WUs (I seems to be the only one using my chosen "name").

How come?

Welcome to the F@H Forum paulcons,

Please note that due to the massive load on the F@H Servers, the Stats aren't updating as normal. It is being intermittent. As long as you have correctly entered the username/passkey/team information, the WUs will be credited... it just might take a while.

I am aware that work is being done in the background to increase the capacity of the F@H Servers to sustain this kind of load.

That was quick... thanks. Yes I totally understand all about loads on systems like what you are doing, some days are better than others... I am not focusing on that. It's not so much that WUs are being credited to my team of choice (they are), it's that I am apparently contributing to this other team as well... my count of work units and date of last contribution are showing roughly in line with my team of choice (#1829) but it says I'm stlil sending WUs to that other team (#247111).

Looking at my personal page (user is "paulc") now I see WUs have gone to 2 other teams, even after I adopted that passcode.

As for the passcode, I entered it right in the FAH Control app, it's still there, BUT as obscured dots. Unfortunately, I forgot to copy it in clear text elsewhere. The web control web based client does indicate that all the "points" I have done since that point in time (it reset when I added the passcode) ARE going to my team of choice. Is there some way to retrieve the passcode that is obscured in my client app? It seems that other than having it entered there, there is not much reason or need for me to have it in plain text.

Please note that usernames are not unique for F@H. Thus, it is possible that there's someone else who's folding under the same username but for a different team.

If you enter the username and email address which was used to generate the first passkey, you will get the same passkey emailed to you: https://apps.foldingathome.org/getpasskey
You can always open up the config.xml file and retrieve the passkey.

If you want to check your individual stats, enter your username and passkey here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus

Yes I understand about usernames, but they have the exact same "rank" which tells me it's me. I think. Had thought I got the passcode right in the browser, went looking and found the email!

Sorry to pester you, but with or without the passcode, that last link you posted only tells me I have done 58 WUs, which makes little sense.

I am looking at the following places for my data:

https://stats.foldingathome.org/donor/paulc

https://stats.foldingathome.org/team/1829

https://stats.foldingathome.org/team/247111

Hi most of those are inactive for last 50 days, how long have you been folding?

Humm... that's a possibility or it means that the Stats haven't updated yet. Once it does (can take a while), you can have a better idea.

I would say that the link shows how how many WUs the Stats system has processed. There can be completed WUs which haven't been processed by the Stats system hence the count can be low. Eventually, it will fix itself but it may take time.

My guess is your not the only person using paulc right now, there are results for 8 different teams with that name, some not active for over 50 days. Usernames by themselves are not unique, anyone can fold with whatever they put in there. Are you only folding from one location? According to https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu there are results from Paulc from 6 ip addresses. Only one from a macos user going to team 1829. Points for team 24711 are from a windows user with a cpu and gpu slots.

I have been folding fairly steadily since early-mid March. It was towards the end of March that I established my passcode. Yes, only one location. I'm retired so not following some tech things as close as I used to, BUT my impression is although I have not paid extra (back in the day that was a thing) for a static IP address, my ISP keeps the input on my router static, but there's no guarantee.

Hmmm, I did not know about that cpu link (thanks), so I was kind of counting on the listing my overall rank... and yeah, only using macOS! I understand data processing and things may not be up to the minute, but identical ranks for 2 different folders really shouldn't be happening. AND if I go to <https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus> I get the exact same result if I use just the name "paulc" as if I use just my passcode. AND if you click on the "paulc" username in team 24711's page, it loads my user page. Yeah, from the start I was kinda surprised that there didn't SEEM to be others using the same name, but I DID try and poke wherever I can to find out and everything kinda told me I was as unique as my mother imagined!

Thanks for chiming in guys...

The rank you are seeing is the same because they are not being filter with a passkey so you and the other people using the name paulc are considered a single person. It probably seemed like it was unused due to stats system being wonky from the huge load from all the newcomers. Been a lot of issues because of that.

Also give https://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ a look, lots of stats info there.
