Hello everyone, i'm new to folding. I'm folding only on GPU, today i got this WU but it didn't utilized my GPU, the load was at %0 all the time. However it used %100 of my CPU which is unusual. I stopped and started it few times but it didn't help. I guess it was broken so i removed the GPU slot to dump the WU. Is there any better way to dump the WU if something similiar happens? I noticed that the WU started here:
10:02:21:WU00:FS01:0x22:Version 0.0.2

3 minutes later, it was paused:
10:05:30:FS01:Paused

I have seen cases where the initialization of some GPU WUs can take up to 5 minutes. During this time, the GPU load is 0% but the CPU load is there. You have a low-end CPU which could mean that it might take a while for the GPU WU to start processing so I would suggest that in future, you wait for a while (30 minutes to few hours) to see what happens.

I have seen the back-end and it's inconclusive if the WU was a bad one or you were a bit quick to pull the plug on it: https://apps.foldingathome.org/wu#proje ... 743&gen=18

Now when you put it like this, you might be right, maybe i was quick to pull the plug. Will wait more next time, but as i said it was unusual to me, even WU's with 27K base credit almost immediately utilized my GPU, and never noticed the %100 CPU load.

I see temporarily 100% CPU usage for GPU work units often as the checkpointing is now done multithreaded with FahCore_22. But should not exceed some minutes.

It was flat-out %100 CPU and %0 GPU all the time.

GPU projects vary greatly on how much initial setup they take. I don't recall the project number but before all the covid projects there was one that used 3 gigs or so of system memory during initial startup and took several minutes to get going. Once running it was like any other unit but that startup was crazy.

I guess i was wrong. I got assigned this WU yesterday, and when folding it was 'different' than the others (frequent %100 CPU usage, longer GPU load drop period) but otherwise it was normal.
