Solved: "no available GPUs"

Solved. The default linux installation (and only the linux installation) includes a setting on the expert tab that turns off usage of GPU (why?). Remove it, reboot, add the GPU slot(s), and it all works as it should.

(Original question)

I have a dual-boot machine. Running win10, it folds fine on both CPU and GPU. But now I need to run linux, and I installed F@H for the first time. The problem is that it does not see the 1080 Ti GPU at all. I tried to manually add a GPU slot, but I get "no available GPUs". This is mint 64bit, with the latest Nvidia driver (440.64). FWIW, BOINC does see the GPU, and sees it as an OpenCL 1.2 device. I checked the package manager, and I do have the OpenCL headers installed.

What am I missing? How do I solve this?

TIA!

It turns off GPU folding if the installer does not detect a GPU. It does not do this every time, for every installation, and the exact circumstances resulting in the gpu=false setting still have to be identified. It is an open issue on the development site.
