Firewall issues

Hi Guys,

I installed F@H on my work computer (on my home network) and everything works great.
But when I try and run it on the same computer but on my work's network it just throws up a bunch of errors in the log and doesnt start, I'm guessing this is something to do with our Kerio Control hardware firewall?

I can ping the folding server address, and if I navigate to the .fah file in a browser it successfully resolves and the file downloads.

These are the errors the log is throwing up, any ideas what I need to allow through the firewall? I thought it was just http/80 traffic..

Code: Select all

07:37:46:WU00:FS00:Downloading core from http://cores.foldingathome.org/v7/win/64bit/avx/Core_a7.fah
07:37:46:WU00:FS00:Connecting to cores.foldingathome.org:80
07:37:46:ERROR:WU00:FS00:Exception: Failed reading core package header.
08:08:16:WU01:FS01:Downloading core from http://cores.foldingathome.org/v7/win/64bit
Any advice would be much appreciated

Depending on the firewall, it could be blocking HTTP access if it doesn't come from "known" web browsers. In that case exceptions would need to be made for HTTP(S) connections, both inbound and outbound, for the FAHClient process to communicate over ports 8080 and/or 80.

Someone on here mentioned recently their experience with another firewall that blocked transfers on "raw" IP address. FAHClient uses those for connections to servers, don't know if that will be an issue with the firewall you mentioned.

Please note that if you have installed F@H on a system that you don't own, you will need permission (usually written) as per the EULA.
