Hey guys!
I'm folding with my outdated PC. I want it to run 24/7. My PC specs:
CPU: Core2 Duo E7500 (no OC)
RAM: 2GB DDR2
MB: Foxconn G31MXP
PSU: 550W (There was a paper on the PSU but now it's gone. 550W is the only thing I remember :( )
Can it run?

If you run 24/7 don't give all the power of your cpu to keep it not too hot especially if it is not a server in a datacenter with climatisation.

Give 70-80% power or less, better it to have sometime reliable.

I give some power of my laptops, but laptops it is not done to do that, it is neither a workstation nor a server, but a each Mhz is ok for folding, if everybody give some power unit CPU to help against Covid19, it will be really helpfull I think.

Good luck

Regards,
Gnutux

Sure it can. Just make sure to remove any dust from the CPU cooler.

Hi,
I expect this CPU do do around 2700-3500 points per day (PPD) with a passkey.
You may think about it's power consumption - this machine will draw 50-70W, so running it 24/7 adds up to 37,2 - 52 kilowatt hours per month.
