Setup Advice

I need some advice with regards to setting up my client for best results.
i9 9900KF OC'd to 4.9GHZ
64GB Ram
RTX 2060 Super OC
Windows 10 1909
I currently do only GPU folding but think I should contribute with CPU as well.
I guess my question is what is the ideal CPU thread assignment? I am a bit confused after the prime number, high and low multiple of 5 stuff I read in another thread.

Your i9 has 16 threads. You need to reserve 1 thread to manage the GPU folding, so that leaves 15 for CPU folding, but 15 isn't a good value for the number of folding cores. I think your best bet is going to be to set up two CPU folding slots, one 8 core and one 6 core.

Great, thank you very much for the advice.

I would use one slot with 12 threads.
The 2 missing threads will reduce load a bit and therefore temperature issues as well. If cooling is not an issue it might lead as well to higher boost clocks for the other threads which results in basically the same output.
Or are you using fixed clocks?

I am using fixed clocks at 4.9GHZ. Cooling with a Kraken X63 and temps never go above 75 celcius.

Ok, in this case you will lose a bit computing power (12t comp to 8+6t) but also with reduced power draw.
I would guess that 12t still produce more PPD than 8+6t combined due to the non-linear bonus calculation.

I'll give both a go and see what the averages are although very difficult with no consistent work being obtained.
Thank you

Good idea.
Just for information. If you want to compare the two setups then either you need a big sample size to compare average PPD or you need to compare WUs from the very same project.
HFM.net is a good tool to document your processed WUs:

Excellent, thank you
Once the WU's are being dished out consistently I will run a week one config then a week another and compare although to be honest I don't think there is a need to be that technical about it.
I'll just leave it as a 12 core slot.
