So I just downloaded this program and am trying to get it to work, but in the "Advanced Controller" section. It just has me staying on Updating for over an hour now....I don't know what to do to get the program to work.

Thanks for the help :)

Is the FAHClient process running? It need to be running in the background for FAHControl or the Web Control to "connect".

I'm pretty sure their work assignment infrastructure is down, and/or the current projects have run out of work units. The flood of new users due to COVID-19 has been pretty rough on their system.

The assignment structure is up, just limiting connections to a rate that they can provide work at. currently there are over 300K WU's, the assignment rate is over 55,000 an hour.

The yellow Updating showing on FAHControl is it trying to connect locally to the background FAHClient process. It needs to do that to display current statsus, start or stop WU processing, and to update the configuration any time a change is made.

I'm not exactly a new user, but things have changed since I last used the system.

I loaded, without too much trouble, on the laptop a couple of days ago, though it did take a little while to get going. I have since loaded on the desktop. Initially it did seem to 'fire up', but the machine was switched off and since that...nothing. Like the starting poster it seems stuck on updating. I wonder how many people just give up and never bother to fold. Mind, if there problem is that there are too many anyway for the system, it probably doesn't matter. Maybe there should be some warning on the FAH home page so new folders don't have to go round the houses to try to sort things, if they don't just give up entirely.

I have only once, in about two dozen attempts managed to open the stats page, usually getting 'bad gateway'. It was sometimes a bit iffy a few years back, but never before, in my experience, to this degree.
