I have F@H on Debian and am trying to control it with "Advanced Control" on windows but it just says "Updating", I can access it via web control, I added my IP range.

The persistent "Updataing" message either means that FAHControl is not running or some firewall-like obstacle is preventing telnet messages from being exchanged between Advanced_Control and FAHClient. When I run into that situation, I first verify that FAHClient is running and then verify that the appropriate ports are not blocked.

Open telnet (or the equivalent) and attempt to establish a connection with FAHClient 36330. Do whatever is necessary to allow the connection to be established.

Fixed it by adding a password to access the client, I've never seen any mention anywhere that a password is required for remote access.
