Just signed up to fold, but on Folding@Home, it says "Paused." Why am I not able to fold yet? How can I make it work? Thanks for the help!

You may need to adjust the folding power slider, or manually un-pause your slot. What's your current setting for the power slider (Light, medium, full etc.?) This setting evaluates what percentage of time to give to Folding depending upon your usage of the machine for other tasks and duties. Drag the slider further to the right (towards full) and it may start. If the slider is on full already and your slots are paused, read on.

If you can open up FAHControl (advanced control) you should see a panel that says 'folding slots' on the left of that. Whichever slots say paused, right-click them and select 'Fold'. That should start it up for you. If you select 'Finish' on any slot, then that doesn't end your folding right there, it means that your current work unit will finish folding and not automatically start folding another work unit at the end of the current one. Pause means that the work unit should write a checkpoint to as far as it's got and pause, allowing you to either quit out of FAH or reboot etc and will then continue when you next restart FAH or just un-pause the slot.
