NVidia likes to tout the research that's expedited with their hardware. One such project at the University of Zurich is a simulation of about 25 billion virtual galaxies made up of 2 trillion digital particles. (And we study proteins with "only" 0.28 million particles although we do it with one GPU at a time.)
