Weird Stats Issue

I just noticed that my stats between the official count, and the EOC Stats Server don't line up.

Here is my Official Stat Link: http://fah-web2.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/ma ... elliott731
Here is my EOC Stat Link: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... =&u=228645

Anyone else notice this? Right now my EOC stats are about 22k ahead of my official.

I just looked, and the difference was the opposite direction. official - 191,697,602 and EOC - 191,676,809. That is easily enough the difference in update times, and EOC is only updated every 3 hours.

I'll have to screen grab the next time it happens. I swear I'm not crazy :-)

There is a time-lag between when Stanford updates the official stats and when sites like EOC download them and publish them. That might not be the issue, though, since Stanford recently made some changes associated with the publication of a Monthly Leader-board.

This is what I'm talking about, these screen grabs just occurred. And EOC is ahead of the official Folding@Home stats server, how is that possible?

The stats are normally updated hourly soon after the top of the hour. Summing everything from the database does take some time (I don't know how long) and those results are written somewhere. In some sequence, that information is placed where 3rd party sites can download them and where FAH's internal query can search by your name.

Depending a lot on what happens at each of those steps, the time-window at which 3rd party stats get updated and FAH's on-line stats get updated may be several minutes wide in either direction. What do you see if you try that at, say, 20 minutes after the hour?

Tonight it's back to the right way, where Stanford is slightly ahead of EOC
