Low PPD on project 13111

Hello, I am wondering if the low PPD I am seeing whenever I pull a project 13111 WU is normal, or is there something I could be doing to have those units crunch better. The GPU in question is a 7850, and is NOT overclocked below is a snippit of the log so you can see how things are set up. Let me know if anything else would be usefull. Every time I pull this project my PPD takes a nose dive, just wondering if there is a why, or something I can do to mitagate.

There isn't enough data in the small section of the log you provided for WU00:FS01 to calculate the frame time for p13111. The only reference to the frame time is "15:29:28:WU00:FS01:0x21:Completed 0 out of 520000 steps (0%)" and you'd need to post the time to get to the next % completion, or ideally let it run through several % steps to get an accurate frame-time reading. Once you have the frame time, you can use the bonus calculator at http://linuxforge.net/bonuscalc2.php to determine if your GPU is operating within the normal parameters you typically see for PPD performance.

I noticed that cause of this is high load CPU at other tasks (BOINC, folding on CPU e t.c.) that results to drop GPU load. With all other WUs on my RX480 I not saw this problem. Please, fix it if it's possible.

GPU folding requires that at least one CPU core is free and available to handle processing data being sent to and received from the GPU. Some have reported that some larger projects going to high end GPU's can process faster with more than one CPU core available to be used by the GPU folding core. As one of the larger GPU WU's, it may not be possible to "fix" if you have your CPU cores fully allocated to other tasks.

Actually, p131xx project series do not have a large PPD themselves. They don't consume much GPU resources

Code: Select all

 Project ID: 13111
 Core: OPENMM_21
 Credit: 2905
 Frames: 100

 Name: Palit-970OC1497 Slot 00
 Number of Frames Observed: 200

 Min. Time / Frame : 00:00:57 - 331 986,2 PPD
 Avg. Time / Frame : 00:00:59 - 315 249,4 PPD
__________________________________________________
 Name: Palit-970OC1490 Slot 01

 Min. Time / Frame : 00:00:58 - 323 437,4 PPD
 Avg. Time / Frame : 00:01:00 - 307 401,2 PPD
According to google spreadsheet a 7850 provides only 48KPPD on p13001. Currently I cannot find info about how fast or slow p13111 crunches with other cards
