Mod note: moved post to appropriate forum

I built this system a while ago but just started folding on it, and when I first started I was getting 300k+ with the automatic config (numbers via webcontrol). I let it run for a while, then paused it (stop folding -> stop now), played some BF4, and closed webcontrol, opened FAHcontrol changed the config to autosave every 5 minutes (from 15) and resumed. When I paused my 970 had 7 minutes left on it's unit, when I resumed it had 45, and took that long. PPD tanked accordingly. Currently, PPD is 10,625 for my 6600k and 51,150 for the 970. I don't know what to include to help, so I guess ask. I'm using the latest drivers.

Welcome to the folding support forum.

Posting the first 100 or so lines of your log file to show the system info and folding configuration would be helpful. Directions on how to do that are in the Welcome topic - viewtopic.php?f=61&t=26036.

I can make a couple observations based on what you have posted so far. Changing the checkpoint frequency is only useful if you are interrupting folding frequently, and currently only affects the timing of CPU folding checkpoints. Due to the way the GPU folding cores are programmed, the frequency is set by the researcher who set up the project. Depending on the size of the project's WU, a checkpoint is typically done every 2-5% of completion. So when you paused and resumed folding on your 970, the WU was restored at the last checkpoint made.

As for the displayed estimates for PPD, those take a few percent of progress to be reasonably accurate. So your actual PPD may be different from what FAHControl or the Web Control show.
