Windows 7 x64, i7-4770K 3500 mHz (water cooled and not overclocked), 8Gb RAM, GTX 750. I have all the latest video drivers installed. FAH is set up to only run when the computer is idle. It used to run just fine, but it started to give me "Fahcore_21 has stopped working" errors. I searched the forum and found someone else with a similar problem which they fixed by uninstalling the Intel HD graphics driver. I tried that and lost three of my six monitors. Windows re-installed the Intel graphics driver the next time I re-booted. Now I get the "Fahcore_21 has stopped working" error every time the screensaver tries to run FAH.

I see no "stopped working" messages in the log you posted.

Where are you seeing them?

When you are active (mouse/keyboard) FahCore_21 SHOULD shut itself down, so the real question is whether it resumes working after your screensaver becomes active again and I'm not sure if I can tell that from the log you posted.

Well, the new log doesn't have the headline error either, as far as I can see.
It does have a different problem: you are trying to get CPU:7 WUs, which are no longer available. Go into Advanced Control, Configure, Slots, CPU, Edit. Set CPUs to 6. OK, Save. That should get the CPU slot running again.

Again, it hasn't "stopped working". It has been "interrupted". I'm fairly sure that is normal because you have both slots set to fold on idle. It will wait until you are not using the computer before folding starts, so by definition it is difficult to see folding in progress. Leave it overnight, you should see some work done by morning.

Alternatively, do a clean re-install of FAH with default options, then change to CPU:6. You should see folding in progress on both slots (WUs take several minutes to start producing progress messages in the log). The CPU slot runs at low priority and should not need "On Idle". The GPU varies -- don't set "On Idle" unless you get unacceptable screen lag for your other use of the PC. If needed, set it as a slot option, not globally (ask if you need help with that).

once you get your CPU folding again, I recommend you remove the "idle=true" setting on that slot, leaving it only on the GPU if you so choose.

I have a couple of GTX 750Ti and when folding with them and browsing concurrently, the added delay is almost unnoticeable. The non-Ti version may be worse. (That's your decision.)

Folding with 6 CPUs shouldn't interfere with anything you're doing.

I tried to include a screenshot of it, but I can't get it to copy/paste. Dragging the .png file results in opening a new window. Anyway, all it says is "FAHcore_21.exe has stopped working..." There is no consistency. Sometimes, the screensaver looks like folding is taking place. (Due to my monitor setup, I can't see the Status Box). Other times my screen is black until I resume using the computer and that is when I see the error message.
I tried to remove the idle=true parameter for that slot, but it won't let me. Whether I blank it out or set it to false the program changes it back to "true."

While I'm troubleshooting the desktop, I thought I would set up the same version of FAH on my laptop. It has a different problem, though. When the screensaver runs, the viewer displays, but it is frozen. The Status block says "Snapshots: [blank] Connection: Connected Protein: Loading Slot: [Blank].

No offense, but running fah as a screen saver is a little 1980s, and unfortunately, runs about as well.

And while the eye candy is nice, it robs resources from the PC that could otherwise be used towards folding faster. Up to you if you want to run this way, but it will almost always be problematic. Use your own screen saver (lame IMO, because we don't use CRTs any more) or just blank the screen to save power, and let FAH run in idle mode.
