CPU 1 Projects

Are CPU-1 projects not available at the moment, only my CPU slot is showing as "Ready" but no WU is installed. The Advanced Control shows the attempt (assignment?) as 19?

How many logical cores do you have? Running CPU:8 slots works, but there seems to be a problem with CPU:24 or higher. I broke my CPU:24 into three by adding folding slots. Now I am back to geting work units.

AFAIK all single core projects have finished.

@Ricky CPU:24 does work - you just normally get the very crappy 7526/7527 projects which can run really slow and knock 20k PPD off what your machine is capable of. I did post a thread about it a while ago but as usual no one was listening. I don't think that cpu:24 is enough for the current "bigadv" projects 8106-8108.

Single core WU's still are being assigned, but have been and continue to be in short supply. The main source for those WU's is currently off from assigning WU's due to problems with the WS reported elsewhere.

24 cores is the minimum set for the WS for projects 8106-8108, Linux only.

Thanks for the info. I still have the GPU running ok but perhaps you can advise me, is it normal for both my processors to be running at about 50% when only one is used in conjunction with the GPU? I have no other programs running and this usage of both processors is constant.

Yes, the scheduler in the OS will normally share the load between the available cores. If you get Core15 WUs on the GPU, then you could assign both cores to CPU folding (Configure| Slots|cpu|edit|CPUs:2) because Core15 has very low CPU demands.

7im's wording is a bit premature. That announcement is that these projects and their WU's are being released to Beta testing. Since they are continuations of existing projects the Beta test period should be relatively short. Usually a test period like this is done to make certain a new WS is properly set up and that the projects transferred with the correct information. So these should be available in the near future to non-Beta testers.
