Does anyone have any experience using this new card for folding? Particularly interested in temps under full load folding and whether it plays well on the same board as a GTX 780ti.

I've have folded a little on my 980 TI SC. Mine is OC'd to 1420 on the gpu/+413 on the memory and temps are at 72 C.

Thanks, 72c at full load doesn't quite sound like the horror stories I had seen :P

Have one on order expect it in a week or so... So may be able to answer my own question in detail soon.

What version of the 980 Ti are you getting? Mine runs on the reference cooler for now but hope to convert it to the hybrid water cooling.

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti ACX SC+ ACX 2.0+ Graphics Card with Backplate. Was considering just getting a refence cooler and adding a hybrid cooling setup too, but I am probably too lazy to get around to it.. Have been meaning to add one to my 780ti for 4 months and haven't yet. Although it is supposed to be fairly simple to fit the hybrid would like to do a practice one before risking a brand new and rather expensive card.

A few teething problems, viewer seems jammed on 'updating' unable to see logs, but is working at the same time. Have completed 7 work units overnight and although says updating is reading a daily ppd of 415k, unsure how accurate that is but seems to be about right at the points received of third party stats. Have not had this happen before with advanced control reading updating while the card actually running.

OK fixed the 'updating' issue, I had moved from 2 cards to 1 to test the new card and the system was still searching for the old card. Reinstalled 1x GTX 780ti to run besides the GTX 980ti and off they went. Have set both to finish in case they don't play well together, but so far so good at just 8 and 11% respectively.
OS win7 driver is 353.3 .
Numbers on core 18 unit 9110 for 980ti is TPF 1.32 388kppd. On core 18 unit 9112 for 780ti is TPF 2.08 and 233kppd. NB the 980ti is running the monitor.
Temps for the 980ti are lower than the 780ti it replaced although the same brand and aircooler the 980ti barely reaches 50c at load while the 780ti was 15c warmer.
I am still not confident the Kepler and the Maxwell will live amicably together so will only run like this when I am home and can monitor them.

Following the above the kepler and the maxwell did play well together on core 18's both completed sucessfully. Now working on a 2nd set of core 18's.
On a 9412 the 980ti producing lower numbers, a TPF of 3.47 and 324kppd, the temps just 44c, suspect full potential not yet being used. Expect this to be the lower end of ppd range.

The cards have worked for an entire day with no issues so far.
The ppd of the card varies significantly between different projects, the lowest noted as above of 324k and highest seen so far is a unit 9114 with a estimated ppd of 496k with a temp of 51c. So far the average seems to be somewhat over 400kppd.

An update after 2 weeks of folding and more than 200 work units completed.
The Kepler and the Maxwell continue to fold well together, no failures at all in over 200 W.Us, the Kepler only folding at night due to high daytime temperatures here.
PPD for the Maxwell remain widely varying between units but it is pretty clear an average of over 400kppd is what you could currently expect with some units getting 330k and others almost 500k. I do note the the output via PPD seems linked to card temperatures with the lower PPD being associated with lower temps and visa versa the temperature range being almost 10c between high and low. Even the highest temperatures recorded on my ACX twin fan card with an ambient of 28c are still just 56c.

Hi kiore

With my MSI 980Ti 6G Gaming I have a ppd between 450k and 570k.

The GPU boost is 1376 MHz and the GPU temperature is 72 °C with 24 °C of ambiante temperature.

Hi.
I've been doing some tests with 980ti's.
Currently testing on Windows 7 (However will be running on a dual-boot Ubuntu setup soon... when I get the time!). I've bought a EVGA 980Ti SC+ (no blackplate), running on 8gb ram and a i7 3770k that's running on 5 cores (noticeable ppd increase from setting aside 2 spare cores. Increased ppd.).
Averaging 470-530k ppd. I have a mild-moderate overclock on it currently, GPU clock of 1426MHz.
temps aren't bad either. I'm a low noise freak, and on my open-aired test bench I only have a couple of "case" fans. 980Ti is running at 48% fan speed, running at a pretty cool 61C but can peak up to 70 in the day-time.
Temps significantly increase when other 980Tis are added in parallel PCIE slots.
