GPU not giving access

Hello,

I JUST started Folding, but I want to use my GPU as well. I'm having trouble getting my GPU noticed. Annyoingly enough I cant figure out what's the newest SMP client OR if the SMP client is even needed

OS: Win 8.1
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780

If this is of any use:

The client you are now using is the only client needed. Two slots were configured, one for the GPU and one for 6 CPUs.

Near the bottom of the screenshot that you posted, a SMP WU was downloaded and just below the part I can see, probably began processing. Presumably a GPU WU was downloaded and started too, but that's also further down the page.

It looks like you need to configure your desired username and, if you want, a team name/number. A passkey is also highly recommended if you're interested in bonus points, but the same science will be contributed, either way.

Then it would appear I need to create another Folding user because the one i registered was flagged and modified to André_Lastname and i'm betting the thing that screws it up then is the é

I will try this ASAP

Edit:
I've now changed ID to something that was accepted when copypasted from the email (which it wasn't the first time sue to the é)

and now i'm rather confused, i'm using both the webclient, FAHcontroller and FAHclient, It seems that the webclient and controller is synched up, but the FAHclient CMDbox is doing some other folding on it's own

I might just put the GPU folding on the shelf, as it seems to not want to work. Either that or that the FAHcontrol and Webclient just doesn't get the GPU folding data... I examined the CMD window a tiny bit and it seems that there are 2 folds going on, WU00 and WU01 so i't might be folding with both

On another note. Is there a list of teams so that i could choose who to join?

Browse this page : http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/mai ... =teamstats ... you can also query with keyword to find the team you like.

Have you launched FAHClient from a command line, or installed it yourself in a startup file? Or installed for both "All Users" and "Current User" (I forget the exact terminology)?

The CMDBox is showing folding on both SMP and GPU cores. I suspect that started first, so that a second Client started later (and connected to the FAHControl and Web interfaces) cannot access the GPU. You also probably have two SMP processes competing for the CPU resources -- while that will work, it is inefficient.

I think the easiest resolution is to set all slots to Finish, wait until the current WUs are uploaded, then uninstall all parts of FAH, including data. You may need to manually remove any startup commands you added manually. Then reinstall using the default options. If that gives some options that are not the way you want them, come back for help on getting them right.

that might be true, seeing as I first downloaded FAH 7 then when encountering the GPU problem went to look for an SMP launcher. Now that i checked my services i could only find one instance of anything related to FAH or SMP, but i will heed your suggestion to remove everything and do a fresh install with only FAH 7
