I noticed in Rosetta@home they have a feature that will allow the user to specify how many days worth of work units to store on the local machine in case of a network failure. I thought it would apply to f@h clients very well.

I think he's asking about how can we get more workunits AHEAD of time, so it will have something to crunch if network is out.

The caching of additional work, or work units, is counter productive with the Folding@home project. Work units are serial in nature, and are very time sensitive. The next work unit in a series can not be sent out until the previous results are returned. If someone was to download 10 work units, it could potentially slow down the project quite a lot while those 10 work units are slowly processed, or while waiting for the network outage to be restored.
F@H did have this feature for a while, when there were work units that were not time sensitive. However, all WUs now are time sensitive. Sorry.
