FahCore_a4 taking up % CPU

Basically, I had installed Stanford's Folding@Home program, which uses some of the computer's processing power to simulate protein folding for medical purposes. However, I removed the application off of my Mac (which runs OS X 10.9.2) for various reasons.

When I check my Activity Monitor (Task Manager), it reports that the FAHClient (read Folding At Home Client) and the FahCore_a4 are still running and taking up CPU. I've tried the little x button at the top of Activity Monitor to Force Quit these things, but they keep coming back. Is there any way of deleting these things and removing all traces of Folding@Home from my computer?

Thanks.

How did you remove it?

You can't just use the normal method of dumping it into the trash- see here:

The 7.4 versions of the F@H client now include the uninstaller as part of the installation. It is placed in the Folding@home folder that gets installed into the Applications folder. If you dragged that folder to the Trash and no longer have the uninstaller, a Custom install will allow you to just get the Uninstaller to use for removing the parts of F@H that remain on your OS X system.
