Great post regarding cancer research background.

Putting my money where my mouth is regarding spending energy recruiting donors instead of culling them :

How could this information be leveraged directly to increase participation?
Many donors have expressed an interest in cancer research as a priority!

I would give specific details on how donors can participate in THIS project.
What kind of WU are going to be involved? CPU, GPU?
I would review the donor interest selection availability in the client.

In short, I would add an addendum to the announcement that made clear to a total novice how they could participate in THIS project(not exclusively, as we know that this is not an option...but the highest probability)

This addition would allow interested, excited, motivated people to use the announcement as vectored recruitment tool...rather than a general background announcement.

There is a Cause Preference in the client (not yet supported by the servers) that will eventually be able to target disease specific projects for download. This is the current list, more may follow.

Alzheimers
Cancer
Huntingtons
Parkinsons

My guess is that it will be mainly for GPU users (http://folding.stanford.edu/home/introd ... odera-lab/). However time will tell what platforms are supported.

@PantherX / @Kyleb, any ETA when the EGFR project will go live? I'm really eager to let my Titan rig work on this. Thanks for all your hard work!

Please note that PG (Pande Group) hasn't given any ETA as to when it will be released. You could monitor the Blog or the updates thread (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=14714&start=195) which might tell you when this Project is released.

Please note that the EGFR Project is being released to Advanced (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=25935) for GPU Users. I do hope that it is one of the many Projects that will be released in the future.

While all research is laudable, this one really catches my interest. I do hope I can get one of these soon.
I am running 7660 (1059,0,155) is it possible to download this project 13000 or is it just allocated ?

Currently it is on Advanced so if you set your client-type to advanced on your GPU Slots, you may get them (not a guarantee since other factors do count).

In general, if you know a project is in Advanced, and you set client-type=advanced, you will have a HIGHER probability of getting one since your first choice will connect you to one of the servers that has advanced projects for your hardware. Of course, a lot will depend on what other Adv projects are currently available.

Well, the Project has moved to Full F@H thus, there isn't any need of using any client-type setting since the default should work fine now (viewtopic.php?f=24&t=25993).

Nice work!!! I've been eager to get a 13000 WU on my GTX Titan rig for days now (using client-type advanced) but without luck. Anyway it's really good news to know that this project is now on Full, does this also mean that the chance of getting a 13000 WU will increase?

I switched my GPU to advanced to see what they were like, all I've had since is P9401's… but it made a change from the 8900's

Regarding the increase in probability of getting a WU, it depends on (AFAIK):
1) The number of GPUs requesting FahCore_17 WUs
2) Number of Project 13000 WUs available
3) Priority of the Project

You can view number 3 on the Server Status if you want. Given the fact that there isn't much you can do, you can just wait for those WUs to be assigned to your GPU.

My GTX 570 has worked on one 13000 WU so far. It took it about 32 hours to process.

In the meantime, lots of 9401's. Some of them have apparently been doing 117k PPD on my GTX 680, which is just crazy high (unless HFM/FAH aren't reporting it accurately).
