Any suggestions?


edit- if I've understood the server status page correctly, it looks as though the work server has run out of unassigned WUs but the assignment server isn't aware of it?

Never mind- it's got one now and is happily folding away.

Tell yourself you're welcome. The only thing anyone did was you... Waiting patiently for the software to sort itself out.

It often takes 10 minutes (or sometimes more) for the Assignment Server to update its information on what's happening with the Work Servers. Do not expect an immediate response.

I thought of that… which is why I asked for suggestions ("Wait a bit longer" perhaps) rather than complaining that something was wrong.

It had been re-trying for well over an hour when I noticed it, and it was over 3 hours before it restarted. With delays that long I don't think it was unreasonable to flag it up.

We don't object to complaints. It's just that it's best to differentiate between (A) I looked at my log and at serverstat and there was/is a long-term server problem and (B) I was impatient and didn't wait at least 15 minutes. Your log does make that clear but other folks read what's said and may not notice the distinction.

Fair enough, I'll be more informative in what I type in future.

I tend to assume that people read the whole post before responding… though I've been online long enough in enough forums that I should know better by now :(

This was due to a small configuration issue on the server-side. It was fixed last night, so that's why you ended up getting a WU.
