Both my i7 920 and Xeon E2650 rigs(one Linux, one Windows) are not able to get assigned WUs, just get the
Server down?

Is there a reason that you're running the v6 client on those machines instead of V7?

Yes, preference mostly. I've been running V6 since its release, and enjoy the simplicity of running in terminal.

That's still possible with V7 if you prefer. Most people don't though and prefer to use a GUI for control, but it's your call.
I would recommend installing V7 as a service (check the autostart option during install) and then using FAHControl. That's what I prefer anyway.

Hard to guess on so little info. And since fah has dozens of servers it's unlikely they are all down. If so a lot more people would be posting the same thing so again not likely. Reboot your internet connection and the computer and then post more log if still not working.

The only time that I saw this message was with a fresh installation of v6 on my systems. Did you do a fresh installation? Also, please post the log here so we can see what the configuration is.

Well now, I logged into the UI of my Verizon Westell 7500(a low end product) DSL modem, and adjusted the firewall settings from the maximum to a more permissive level. Immediately both the Linux and Windows v6 clients began connecting to the AS.
I'm at a loss as to what could have changed, I had not made any changes to the modem settings in the last couple of years Thanks to all for your assistance.
....I'll try to 'warm-up' to v7, I know that at some time in the future v6 will become depreciated.
