I have a DualCore Intel Pentium E5400, 2700 MHz with 2 GB of memory and windows 7. This computer maybe too slow for folding@home so I'm thinking of installing a radeon HD 7790. Does this sound like a good idea?

I would make sure that the power supply can handle such a card.

It's not too slow to fold if you use both CPU cores. However, the GPU is a better upgrade assuming the PSU can handle it like Jesse said.
