Inconvenient issue but is there a possible fix?

I have found that running folding@home causes the game Team Fortress 2 to minimise and maximize rapidly until you either have to close it or it opens after a minute of waiting for it to stop. As you guess, this can frustrating. No other game I play does this with f@h running... I am curious, is there anything I can do to stop the minimising and still run f@h with TF2 running?

You might say disable then re-enable after play time, but I am a really forgetful person. I want to help the folding@home project but me forgetting to run it doesn't really help me contribute to this project. :)

I don't know the specific game, but there's a pretty good chance it's an OpenGL issue. The only real fix for it would be to switch to from the GUI client to the Console client and work out some other method of viewing the protein (if that's important to you). You can monitor the progress by looking at the text console or by downloading one of the 3rd party monitoring tools.

This has happened everytime I try to run it and I've tried to run it 3 times. The first time I let it get to 10 attempts before I manually stopped it.

It is happening to a lot of people. Just let it run and it will eventually get a WU.

Can you post your client.cfg here as well.

I'll redo it, but when I do... do I want to use IE settings? I thought I remembered the graphical client had yes as the default, yet this doesn't?

Ah! There it goes... Now... if I close the CMD window, does F@H stop too? I set it as a service.

CTRL+C the command window, and reboot... FAH will start as a service.

Thanks guys. This seems to help and I just use Fahmon to monitor the progress. Thanks again!
