[My ISP's] Server responded: HTTP_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR

The client won't connect to 49.49.48.13 with and internal server error. I am on Ubuntu 13.04 64bit. I've tried several hours apart so it isn't a temporary problem. Is there a way of changing the request to HTTPS? My ISP frequently breaks HTTP connections with its transparent proxy. I am a 2GHz Pentium Dual core with 2GB RAM.

It seems my ISP's transparent proxy is breaking it, as I keep on getting "Failure to connect to web server", which is an error from the proxy, which I cannot turn off.

Welcome to the folding@home support forum spw.

The first thing I would try would be to add your proxy to the client's configuration. Open FAHControl and click on the proxy tab.

Check the Enable Proxy box and insert 49.49.48.13 or the Hostname if the IP is likely to change in the "Hostname or IP" field and click on Save. (You might also have to change the port if your "ISP's transparent proxy" uses a specific port ... possibly 80)

You might have to restart the client after making this type of change.

Basically, the client's communication process works the same as your browser. Check your browser's proxy settings and use the same in the client's proxy settings.

My ISP intercepts HTTP traffic. I can't disable it and it is on always without an option to turn it off.

49.49.48.13 is the work server which I can't connect to because of my ISP. How can I get FAH to assign me a different server which hopefully my ISP doesn't break?

No, 49.49.48.13 is not a work server at Stanford or any of the other associated research groups at other locations. The servers that are used are listed on the Server Status page, a link to that page is at the top of every forum page. Your connection requests are being redirected by your ISP, contact them for the correct proxy server settings to use. We can help you get those entered into the client.

49.49.48.13 resolves to an ISP provider in Thailand. As Joe has said this is not a folding@home work server.

Does your government censor the internet? If so, there's nothing we can do about it -- nor should we. You need to follow the laws of your country.

If your country is unfairly blocking FAH, you'll have to convince them of that fact.
