swing in ETA and other values

I have a system monitoring tool attached to my folding systems, read the data points via telnet and a python script and can show graphs about ETA, CreditEstimate and PPD. Normally I see quite a simple triangle for ETA and a straight line for credit estimate (with a bit up and down).

Recently see quite some zick-zack shape indicating that ETA and credit estimate kind of swing. This behaviour I can see in a VM folding with CPU but also on a dedicated Ubuntu-system with CPU and GPU and before on Windows. So I think its not linked to environmental conditions like OS or additional system loads.

I wonder how the ETA during for one project is normally developing while crunching; if swinging is normal and can be ignored or if that indicate any issue.

Thanks for yours thoughts ...

All the estimates are supposed to be calculated using a rolling 3-frame median of frame times.

There is a known issue with the V7 client reporting estimated TPF's and therefore the estimated PPD for WU's from some projects. The TPF value will oscillate around the actual time that can be seen by examining the log file entries. This only effects some projects, others will have estimated values that remain close to the actual values.

Thanks; good to know its known and not caused by my system setup in some ways
