Is it possible to continue a work unit on alternate OS?

I have Windows 7 64-bit and Lubuntu-64 bit installed on my computer. As far as I know, folding runs a lot better on linux systems. My issue is that I run my computer in windows for most of the time. But is there a way to continue the same work unit from linux when I boot into the alternate OS? I don't really understand how progress is stored, but I would have thought it might be possible for a client installed on the alternate OS to use the same location for picking up its current work units and continuing from where it left on the other operating system.

Is this possible? If so, how?

There is no way that I know of to do so. Computationally it would also be suspect as there might be small differences in the results calculated by the Linux folding core compared to the Windows core.

As an alternative, if you folded in a VM on Windows that used the same OS install and F@H install as you used when booted into Linux, then you should be able to continue work after rebooting.
