It appears that I shut down my client just as a WU was being uploaded. It is not clear to me from the log if this upload went smoothly. I dont see a work accepted notice. Did it go OK?

Since this is a WU from an older server no estimated points will be reported in your log. That function is only available on servers running newer versions of the software.

Thanks....i missed that in all that data. Is there a danger in shutting down the client at the wrong moment? odds are I wont be in the middle of up an upload, but I should be more careful if there is a danger in losing data.

Yes, there are some points at which a client shutdown can cause problems. If it happens exactly as a checkpoint is being written, a crash can corrupt the checkpoint file in the process of being written to disk. Another time is the gap between when the core is finished processing the WU, it has reached 100%, and when the results are packed up to return. That is done when you see this kind of message in the log:

22:41:55:WU00:FS00:FahCore returned: FINISHED_UNIT (100 = 0x64)

In this case it is only a few seconds, but a larger WU can take somewhat longer to be readied for return. Most other interruptions will at least restart from the last checkpoint, these rarer cases do happen occasionally.
