Hey all,

So when I attempt to d-load work units for my CPU (not GPU), I am getting the following:

WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get ID from 'assign3.stanford.edu:80': 10001: Server responded: HTTP_FORBIDDEN
WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get ID from 'assign3.stanford.edu:8080': 10001: Server responded: HTTP_FORBIDDEN
WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get ID from 'assign4.stanford.edu:80': 10001: Server responded: HTTP_FORBIDDEN
WARNING:WU01:FS01:Failed to get ID from 'assign4.stanford.edu:8080': 10001: Server responded: HTTP_FORBIDDEN
ERROR:WU01:FS01:Exception: Could not get an assignment ID

I can browse to assign3.stanford.edu and get an OK message.

Any ideas for what could be going on?

See viewtopic.php?f=67&t=22484#p224578 and viewtopic.php?f=61&t=21971#p220950, they might have answers to this.

Thank you Jesse. If what I am reading is accurate, it looks like it's on my firewalls end.

That was fast and helpful! Thank you!!

No problem, glad to know you're up and running. :D
+1 to the forum's Google search on that one.

Actually, I stand corrected. :( After making firewall tweaks, I still am not connected. It's going through the firewall with no issue, but still getting the HTTP_FORBIDDEN error.

It's still some kind of a problem on your end. Those URLs work fine from here and I have no special settings. Moreover, it couldn't possibly be a server problem. Every time a client needs a new WU, the first contact it makes is to one of the assign*.stanford.edu servers before being redirected to a work server that can download a WU to your machine. If this server was unavailable to others, this board would immediately light up with a multitude of posts saying "FAH IS DOWN. Fix it right now."

If you're working through a proxy server, check with the admin of that server. Also, try temporarily disabling your AV Suite and see if it's one of it's components that's "protecting" you from what it believes is spyware or a trojan. You may have to compose a rule that permits the FAHClient program from establishing an internet connection.
