Low PPD

Running a decent build but having a few odd problems. First my client seems to run in 32bit instead of the 64bit, even though my OS is also 64bit. the client of 7.3.6 I thought was 32/64 auto sensing.
My GPU is only doing 6670 ppd, but i'm running a OC'ed 7970 with clock/mem set to 1125mhz/1445mhz so it should be much higher. my CPU FX-8350 is doing 10k ppd, my gpu should be chewing this number up and spitting it out.

Ideas anyone.

Also I am glade that my 7970 is now running without failing thx to the new 13.2 beta ccc drivers.

The last known perfectly working (for folding) AMD driver was 12.8. There are several threads here that try to address how to uninstall later drivers and put back the old one. If you want, you can join the beta team where they are testing a new core (FAHCore_17) which works better with the newer AMD drivers.

The client and some of the associated pieces of the F@H software do run in 32-bit as there is no performance benefit to also releasing them as 64-bit. The actual folding work is done by the folding core process, that will show as FahCore_nn. There have been some Windows memory management issues with projects requiring large amounts of RAM, so you may see the core process still using 32-bits.

As for the GPU folding, reports are that the 7970 requires specific driver versions to reach near full utilization with the Core 16 WU's you are currently being assigned. Specifically that core works better with an older release of the SDK. There is a new folding core currently in testing that should improve that, but that is not in general release.

How do I get a copy of the beta FAH17?, also when I had the 12.8 it kept shooting out comp error, so I went to the 13.2 and there running.

You need to join the beta team and accept the duties and responsibilities therein. Then we can talk about beta topics in the beta forums. One of the policies here is that people are not allowed to communicate about beta topics in the general forums.

I have no idea why 12.8 was erroring.
