Team name dilemma

Hey guys!

This is my first post on this forum and I have a question that might not be for this forum but I am not sure where else to turn. I am looking to make a team for the company I work for but the team name I need is already in use. Stranger yet the team name is actually for the same company I need to make a team for (website is the same). The problem is that the team that has the name I need has not been active for four years. Is there anyway I could contact the team leader and ask if I could take over the team or if he/she could somehow disband the team so i could start a new one? I was hoping one of you could point me how I might contact the F@H team moderators so that I might ask them directly how I might resolve this dilemma. Thanks in advance!

Why not just contribute to the team that exists?

I would like to be able to update the team's info. It also would sound better to my manager if I told him that I was able manage it versus telling him that some person from fours years ago, possibly not even with the company any more, is in charge of the team.

Let's see if I got what you meant:

An official team was created for Company X (with permission) by person A.
Person A now lo longer works for Company X and can't be reached for team details.
Company X has instructed you (fluffy) to take over the role of person A.

Is that correct so far?

That is correct. I do need to correct myself on some details though. I just double checked my facts and there seems to be one user who has done some work loads this year, 2013, but has had no active clients within 50 days. The whole team has had no active clients within 50 days. All the other users haven't done any work loads ranging from 2004 to 2012. And yes, I have been asked to look into the possibility of starting and managing a company F@H team. That is when I discovered the team had been taken already by someone else in the company and I didn't know how to find/contact the creator.
