The device ID of my GPU is 1002 - 68A9. I'm new to folding at home and would like to have my GPU do some work too. The errors in the log are as follows:

Note: I had to manually add a slot for my GPU.
System Info:
Build Version 7.3.6
CPU Intel Xeon CPU W3530 @2.80 GHz
GPUs 1
GPU 0 UNSUPPOTED: Juniper XT [FirePro 3D V5800] But my device appears in the whitelist here: https://fah-web.stanford.edu/file-relea ... c/GPUs.txt

Before this new version I was getting 12000+ PPD now it's only 7000+ :(

Any pointers would be great. Also, if I forgot to include any useful information please let me know. I'm new to this FAH thing but would love to donate CPU and GPU work for this great cause.

Hi h0b0byter99 and welcome to the folding support forum.

Although it appears your GPU has been in the GPUs file for some time have you tried pausing and quitting the client, then click on Start, All Programs, FAHClient, Data Directory and deleting the GPUs file so that when you restart the client automatically downloads the latest GPUs.txt file?

Also, what o/s and version, and which version of amd graphics driver are you using?

. What is the date of the last download of GPUs.txt on your system? Your client is reporting it as UNSUPPORTED based on the file in your FAH data directory.

.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yeah I went to that whitelist and found my device in the list. I followed the directions on how to replace that text file with the one on my system. Did a reboot just for good measure and still no go.

How do I find the date of the last download of GPUs.txt on my system?

Please run fahclient --lspci and post the output here. You'll need to know how to capture the output from the CMD (aka DOS or text) window but I can explain if you need it.

Graphics Driver version got via GPU-Z:
atiumdag 9.3.3.0 (Catalyst 12.10) / Win8 64

Catalyst Pro Control Center Version:
2012.1120.2318.41833

Thanks for supplying the info.

Other than "20:39:56: GPU 0: UNSUPPORTED: Juniper XT [FirePro 3D V5800]" I'm not seeing anything that would cause your problem. Hopefully a fresh set of eyes will see something else.

Has this GPU ever folded? If so, did the problem start after installing the 12.10 drivers?

There have been problems reported with the 12.10 drivers so you might want to try the latest beta drivers or a previous version after uninstalling 12.10.

This could be a problem that is out of your control. Looking at the log for 171.67.108.44 it keeps fluctuating between full and accept with no net load(but the # of available work units is changing :e?: ) which might indicate that server is experiencing a problem.

Thanks!
Yes I think it was working at one time. I was getting 12000+ PPD with this machine but I wasn't experienced enough at that time to tell if the GPU was folding. I'm thinking it was folding but that PPD only lasted a day. Then it went down to 7000 - 10000. Now i'm at around 10000 with my CPU alone so maybe the GPU was never folding. I'm just not sure.

I'll install beta drivers or go down a version and let you know the results.

One more thing I noticed in your config is that you're using all 8 cores for your CPU slot but the amd/ati GPUs require a full core for GPU folding. Most people would drop their CPU config to cpu:6 so that the two slots don't compete for CPU usage. This can actually increase overall PPD as the constant interference can cause the CPU PPD to drop dramatically. This shouldn't have anything to do with your problem getting an assignment but you should probably change it if and when the GPU starts working.

Dropped CPU to 6. Updated to Catalyst Pro Control Center to 2012.1219.1521.27485

Edit: Still no dice. I'll do a reboot and see if that fixes it.
