Project: 7200 (Run 34, Clone 10, Gen 235)

Hey everyone.
Just got into this folding thing and I do not mind using my PC to help.
But the other day i got this project and it has no information and it is pretty large it has an ETA of 4 hours at a rate of 4,500PPD
If this is an error is their a way i can skip this WU?

4 hours is a small-medium WU

The big ones can take over 24 hours.
And you haven't given enough information on your specs and client version.
What do you mean by "it has no information"?
Skipping WUs is not recommended unless it's the best thing to do.

FYI
You won't get 4500 PPD unless you've completed 10 WUs using a passkey:
http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-passkey
Not knowing your system specs I can't say how reasonable the 4500 prediction is but after looking at my history it sounds right for a quad core @ stock.
btw without a passkey you'll get a credit of 484.

Welcome to the Folding@home support forum |GrayFox|!
Thanks for joining us!
Projects vary from one to the other, and some just take longer than others. WUs are benchmarked before they are released, so if they take longer the deadline is correspondingly longer, and your PPD should be about the same. As long as you're making the deadline (which I'm sure you are), you don't need to worry.
I also don't understand what you mean by "has no information", but I'm guessing you mean that it has no project description. I see from
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/fah ... ned?p=7200 that's indeed the case. Hmm. The scientist who launched project 7200 is responsible for setting the description, and normally it's a good idea to find out who that scientist is, so that they can be notified. Unfortunately, 7200 does not appear on
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html which is a bit odd. I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, and since it doesn't appear in the list of active projects, I'm a bit surprised that you ended up with a WU from this project.

A bit off topic, FYI I once received a 7600 (I think it was 7600) when it no longer appeared in psummary.
And btw, about the 7200 description, I'm positive I've visited it before and it wasn't blank.

It has happened before that projects with a short supply of WU's have not shown up on the Project Summary pages. If all available WU's for a project are "checked out" from their work server when the list is updated, then the project will not be on the list as active. In my experience that is usually as a project is nearing completion. Perhaps at some time in the future the PG will modify the way the lists are generated so projects in this state will show up.

My other WU did not take this long.
But my system specs are
Intel i5 3570k with a boost clock of 4.2Ghz
FVGA GTX680SC(can't get to work(stock clocks))
8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
OCZ 850w PSU

Yes, there was data there and I don't have any way of knowing what happened to it. It's being submitted for re-installation but I have no idea how long that will take.

Significant variations are very common. All that means is that your other WU was a different protein with a different project number. See the earlier information:

If you get another Project 7200, it will be almost identical to the present one in spite of variations in Run/Clone/Gen numbers.

I am guessing that it is an EVGA GPU. If that's the case, can you please elaborate as to why it won't work? You can post log (in the Code tags available in the Full Editor) or describe what happens.

Yeah it is an EVGA GPU.
The WU downloads but it just sits at 0% with the ETA of unknown.
Project 7200 finished and got a new WU after(10mins(i am shaped so downloading takes ages))
I have also added the GPU.txt to C:\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient as well as C:\Users\Grayfox\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient (data directory from All programs)

Just to confirm, you have only installed a single GPU in your system which is GTX 680?

I have one EVGA GTX680.
I do not know why the log says i have 2.
My GPU slot is set to -1 for the GPU-index.
