I have a Fedora Rawhide running FAH v7 and it is now segfaulting all the time:

Code: Select all

 FahCore_a4[1749]: segfault at 7fb7e4b08590 ip 00000000006d3767 sp 00007fb7f035df20 error 4 in FahCore_a4[400000+5e9000]
Current project:

Code: Select all

Project: 8004 (Run 94, Clone 3, Gen 194)
I've removed the core files, but it seems to be the latest FAHCore A4 available:

Code: Select all

[root@mlrt Core_a4.fah]# ls -la
total 6136
drwxr-xr-x. 2 fahclient root 4096 Jun 18 13:11 .
drwxr-xr-x. 3 fahclient root 4096 Jun 18 13:11 ..
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 fahclient root 6272504 Jun 18 13:11 FahCore_a4
[root@mlrt Core_a4.fah]# ./FahCore_a4
Folding@Home Gromacs GB Core Version 2.27
[root@mlrt Core_a4.fah]#

Code: Select all

[root@mlrt fahclient]# rpm -q fahclient
fahclient-7.1.52-1.x86_64
[root@mlrt fahclient]#

Code: Select all

[root@mlrt Core_a4.fah]# uname -a
Linux mlrt 3.5.0-0.rc2.git0.3.fc18.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Jun 11 13:00:03 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I just moved the work folder away and restarted the FAH client. It seems to work now:

Code: Select all

10:32:49:WU00:FS03:0xa4:Project: 8004 (Run 172, Clone 25, Gen 43)
10:32:49:WU00:FS03:0xa4:

10:34:08:WU00:FS03:0xa4:Completed 2500 out of 250000 steps (1%)
If someone at PG shall want to investigate that faulty WU data then I can send it in.

The WU has been reissued several times and everybody seems to be getting an error after 0.01 days and receiving 0 points. It's what we typically call a "bad WU"

I'm changing the title and moving your post to the Problems with WU forum.

I have no reason to supect it has anything to do with either V7 or with Linux.
