I need to go on vacation for about 11 days. I was wondering if there is any way to turn off my graphics card (HD6950) to save a little bit of power, because I use my CPU only for folding anyways.
I an just asking out of curiosity and would like to know any possible methods, maybe even turning on the comp after removing the GPU? But it's fine if it's not possible, just do tell me =D Thanks

If your system has an integrated graphics, I think you can just remove the GPU. Never tried it myself though.

If there isn't anything significantly using the graphics card, then the bill wont be significantly affected, especially if you're still CPU folding.
You can't take out an integrated card.
Alternatively, disable it in Device Manager and it wont be running...

Depending upon your BIOS, you may be able to boot headless (i.e. no graphics and no keyboard) by disabling those POST errors in CMOS setup. You also need to setup Windows to boot without logging in or configure folding to run as a service. After both of those are properly setup, power down and remove the video card and the keyboard followed by powering back up.
