CPU benchmark processor

The original benchmark CPU is listed as an i5-750, a member of the Intel Core i5 family. SOURCE
The new benchmark machine is a Core i5-750 with Turbo Mode off
Current FAQ lists the benchmark CPU as the X3450, a member of the Intel Xeon 3400 family. SOURCE
Primary CPU Intel Xeon UP Quad Core X3450 2.66Ghz 8Mb Cache 95w

When was it changed, and why?

As the New Points FAQ is date Jan 2010, that's when "the" new system was put in place.

However, I never noticed the conflicting data...


Benchmark machine: Quad core i5-750 ("Lynnfield" (45 nm)) class with Turbo Mode off. Details:
Intel SR1630HGP Xeon 3400 1U Rackmount Server Platform
Primary CPU Intel Xeon UP Quad Core X3450 2.66Ghz 8Mb Cache 95w


Other than the Xeon having HT, the chips are almost identical.
