had to reinstall- now cannot connect

hi
my computer crashed, and i reinstalled folding. i am not sure if i am connected to the server. i am not getting any error msg. the folding icon appears in my notification area, and when i hover over it it will show working xx/250, but when i check my user status, i show no work completed since the crash, and also i am unable to view the graphic. (since i have not yet reached 250/250 perhaps that is why i show no work completed - i no longer remember how this is calculated. however, i know i should be able to view the graphic)

i do not believe a firewall to be a problem, as i also run several boinc programs and i had no trouble reinstalling those.

thank you!

Are you saying that you started the computer with a fresh Operating System load? Or just a fresh install of the Client?

uhhh - since i don't know what a fresh os load is, i think it must have been the latter. i went to the FAH site and clicked on the 'download' button. then i installed the pgm. i now have the little FAH icon in my taskbar which gives me the pop-up dialog box with display, configure, status, etc. when ihover over the icon it now shows 0/10000 although yesterday i showed 60/250. it would appear that this means that i have completed some work units, but my user status still shows no work completed since 2010. this, coupled with the fact that i have been unable to display the FAH graphic (the screen opens but is only black, with no representation showing) leads me to believe that i am not connecting properly somehow.

Hello lenette, welcome to the forum.

The Viewer in the v6 client was known to be troublesome (buggy), and only works on a few models of GPUs. Not to worry if it doesn't work. Certainly not a good indicator if the program is working or not.

Right click, and view the log to get a better idea of what's happening. Even better, post that log info here.

the log seems to confirm that the problem is only with the viewer, as i show ongoing completed work. thanks very much for your help!
