Passkey question

Hello, I am sure this has been answered somewhere, but I have searched these forums and can't seem to find a specific answer.

Is a passkey meant to make it one person per username? as in, is having multiple people submitting work units under the same username forbidden/not allowed with a passkey present?

Also, does this mean that any clients that submit work units without the passkey no longer contribute to the donor's points?

Thanks!

Having a passkey does not prevent others from contributing under a specific username. What it does it makes your contributions to that username identifiable from others'. In the rare instances that someone's used others' computers illegally to accumulate points for themselves, PG has zeroed out all the points under that username. If someone did that with your name (which would be extremely unlikely), and you could show that the points contributed with your passkey were not obtained in violation of the EULA, PG could zero out all the ill-gotten points but not yours.

Ah okay, thank you much. I believe that answers my other question too: if a client doesn't have the passkey but is contributing to my username, the points still go through. They just aren't protected/don't get any bonuses.

Thanks again
